Not all Mineral Toothpowder is made the same.

Why choose Akamai's Mineral Toothpowder?
Our roots run deep when it comes to holistic oral care.

⚠️ A note on clay and heavy metals
A recent Guardian article highlighted a serious issue: several toothpastes — including some labeled “natural” — were found to contain lead and other heavy metals. Some of the highest levels were in products containing bentonite clay.
This has led to understandable concern. But the issue isn’t the clay itself — it’s the quality and source.
We use only pure, unprocessed, food-grade calcium bentonite clay — the kind that’s rich in minerals and has a naturally negative ionic charge, meaning it binds to positively charged heavy metals like lead.
Once bound, these metals are chemically locked and non-bioavailable, meaning they’re not absorbed into the body and are safely eliminated.
This unprocessed food-grade clay is the same type that’s been used for generations in natural health and detox protocols — and it's even used today by functional health professionals as a natural adjunct in heavy metal detox support.
Every batch of our Mineral Toothpowder is third-party tested for purity, including for heavy metals and microbial safety. If any trace levels of naturally occurring heavy metals are present, they are chemically bound within the clay matrix and remain inert, safe, and non-absorbable.
As always, quality counts.
A COMPANY THAT CARES

When it comes to choosing oral care, the stakes are high.
Remember that your gums and oral mucosal (aka mouth) lining readily absorb whatever you put in them. Make sure what you are using is up to your standards.
