Note: This is not an antiperspirant (which no one should use), and if you have a spike in cortisol (from stress or caffeine or hormones) the odor may power through the Mineral Deodorant. While this is unfortunate, it is actually your body saying “hey, something is wrong”, and it is important to pay attention to it. You need to chill out, take some deep breaths, and then go wash your pits with soap and water, or, if you are on the go, a hand sanitizer can do the trick. If you are more smelly, more often without the spike, then it is a worth investigating with your doctor - it could be that you have a yeast infection, or something in your diet, personal care routine, or perhaps you need to switch to natural fiber clothing (wool is excellent) that is naturally odor resistant.

How does Akamai Mineral Deodorant work?
Our formula uses magnesium, plant-based liquids, and essential oils to neutralize odor-causing bacteria — naturally. It doesn’t block sweat glands or disrupt your body’s natural process. Instead, it keeps you feeling fresh while letting your skin function the way it’s meant to.
What’s the difference between your deodorant and antiperspirant?
Antiperspirants use aluminum salts to plug sweat glands and stop perspiration.
Our Mineral Deodorant is aluminum-free. It doesn’t stop sweat — it simply neutralizes odor and helps absorb excess moisture using clean, non-toxic ingredients.
Will I sweat more when I switch from an antiperspirant?
Possibly for the first 1–2 weeks. This temporary adjustment is normal as your body resets after years of aluminum use. We recommend using baking soda with oil to exfoliate and then gentle dry-brushing to help detox. Once your microbiome balances, most people find sweat levels normalize and odor significantly decreases.
Does it actually keep odor away?
Yes. Magnesium is highly effective at reducing odor-causing bacteria, and our essential-oil blend along with witch hazel and rose hydrosol adds an extra layer of freshness. The formula is designed to be long-lasting without synthetic fragrance.
Why doesn’t it stop me from sweating?
Sweating is a natural detox function. Our deodorant supports that process rather than blocking it. Instead of stopping sweat, it keeps odor under control and helps manage moisture with lightweight, fast-drying minerals.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Generally, yes, but if you have sensitive skin, we recommend that you do a test on your forearm to make sure it doesn’t irritate you. Everyone is different. The formula is baking soda-free and made with gentle ingredients that won’t disrupt your skin barrier.
Will it stain my clothes?
No. There are no heavy waxes or synthetic oils = low residue. Our deodorant goes on clean and dries quickly, reducing the chance of marks on clothing.
How long does one application last?
Hard to say - some people are fresh all day, others prefer to reapply. If you’re especially active or live in a hot climate, a quick refresh may help — but most users find the formula long-lasting.
Can I use it right after shaving?
Yes, though it may sting a bit due to the salt content (magnesium chloride). If your skin is extremely sensitive, you may prefer to wait a few minutes post-shave before applying.
Is the scent natural?
Yes. We use pure essential oils and additive free rose hydrosol and witch hazel for a fresh, clean scent — no synthetic fragrance, phthalates, or “mystery” aroma chemicals.
Does it expire?
For best results, use within 12–24 months. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain freshness and potency.
