Is the Mineral Toothpowder safe for kids?

We believe the toothpowder is safe for children over 2 years old - the only issue is the essential oils, which small children can be sensitive to.

For this reason, it is a good idea to check with your pediatrician or do your research.

The essential oil concentration is under 2%, and since it is in a dry powder, it is not as strong. Mineral Toothpowder is great for preventing cavities! Check out our Holistic Oral Health guide for more ideas on optimal oral health.

If your child is sensitive to essential oils, we recommend making your own toothpowder using our Living Clay (which represents about 75% of our Mineral Toothpowder and does not contain oils). We recommend mixing the clay with some baking soda, 80/20 - you can add whichever essential oils you like - the customization possibilities are endless - many recipes are available online.

California Proposition 65 Warning

Mineral Toothpowder may have trace amounts of naturally occurring heavy metals. Heavy metals are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

[We must provide this warning to legally sell these products to residents of California. The clay we use chemically binds to these naturally occurring heavy metals, preventing their absorption by the body.]

Here is our Prop 65 statement regarding our clay-based products.
