At Akamai, we believe true well-being requires care on every level — physical, mental, and spiritual.

Just like we’ve created a daily oral and body care system to support physical health and vitality, we’re sharing this daily inner care ritual that’s become a lifeline for us — especially during life’s darkest moments.

This is not about doing everything perfectly. It’s a daily menu of small, proven practices that help you reconnect with your spirit and strengthen your nervous system over time. Just choose a few. Consistency is everything.

The daily menu

1. Physical Movement
Move your body daily — walk, stretch, dance, shake. Let energy move through.

2. Gratitude & Appreciation
Call to mind (or write down) a few things you’re genuinely grateful for. Even in the midst of struggle, this practice changes your brain and your heart.

3. Journaling (Stream of Consciousness)
No structure. No censoring. Just write freely. Burn it or toss it — this is emotional clearing, not art.

4. Somatic Meditation
Pause. Breathe. Scan your body and feel what’s there without judgment. Relax. Allow. Let your system downshift.

5. Opposite Action (CBT Practice)
If your mind says “don’t” — do. When feeling low or stuck, take a positive action anyway. A walk, a phone call, a shower — even if it feels flat. This builds strength and disrupts downward spirals.

Vincent Cobb

After a course in organic chemistry weeded him out of earning his degree in Microbiology, he discovered Philosophy where he found a home of study. He continues to be profoundly influenced by a convergence of Stoicism, Rationalism, Empiricism, Epistemology, and Ethics — and while at university, cited The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Thomas Kuhn and sentential calculus (aka propositional logic) as two key game-changers.

In addition to serving Akamai’s mission, he spends time trail running, being in nature, and being a father.
