Everything you need to know to get started with Akamai




 

How does your service work?

It’s simple.

  • Choose the items you want from our store.
  • Enter billing and shipping information and complete checkout.
  • Activate your account from the account confirmation/activation email. So that you can login to manage your account at any time.
  • Your first box arrives in about a week. Enjoy your products and keep in mind it may take 1-2 weeks to adjust to new personal care routines and products!
  • We bill and ship your items every 60 days moving forward. You can cancel or modify your subscription at any time.

 

When will my recurring shipments arrive?

Recuring shipments are tied to the date you joined our service and placed your first order. For example, assuming you joined our service on the Oct. 15th your next order will be processed in 2 months on Dec. 15th. Subsequent orders will ship every other month on the 15th. Your shipment will arrive within in 3-5 business days after being processed.

 

Can I bulk order?

Our service is setup to ship every 2 months. Set it and forget it. However, you could place a large subscription order then login to your account and delete or modify your upcoming shipments/subscription.

 

Can I pay with Pay Pal or a check?

Sorry, but at this time we only accept major credit and debit cards.

 

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to continental US, Hawaii and Alaska.

 

How much do you charge for shipping and handling?

We charge a Flat Fee with no minimum of $5 for continental US and $7.50 for Hawaii/Alaska.

 

What service do you use for shipping?

We ship all boxes using USPS first class mail service.

 

What is your return policy?

On the log in page click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link and you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you are still having trouble, contact us at support@akamaibasics.com.

MANAGING YOUR ACCOUNT

I am having trouble logging into my account.

While you created an Account with your first order, you need to "Activate it" (create a password) in order to manage your Account and Subscription. You can do this (Activate/Create a Password) by clicking on the link in the "Account Activation" email sent to you after you placed your first order.

If you can't find the email, no worries. Just contact support@akamaibasics.com and we'll send out another activation email to you, or help you with anything else you need.

 

How can I manage my subscription and what are my options?

Simply log in to your account. You can manage many things related to your subscription including:

  • Skip shipments
  • Ship your order now
  • Change your subscription order ship date
  • Change quantities
  • Add products to your subscription
  • Update billing, shipping and credit card info
  • Cancel your subscription

Note: Having Trouble Logging In? Make sure you've "Activated your Account", which means created a password. You can do this by clicking on the link in the account activation email sent to you after you placed your order.

 

I ordered the Essentials Kit, and I want to drop one of the products and change quantities on the others, how do I do that?

To create a custom subscription, log in to your account using the same email you used to create an account/place an order. Your Account page will appear. Now that you’re logged in, shop for the products you want to have in your new/updated subscription. Make sure to click the “Add to Existing Subscription” button when selecting a product (vs. the Subscribe button). Once you are done adding the products you want in your new/updated subscription, go to “Manage Your Subscription” from the Accounts Detail page. You can then click the “Manage” arrow on the far right and select “Product Qty”. It will show all of the items in your subscription. Delete the Essentials Kit from your subscription. All future orders will reflect these changes.

 

Can I change quantities?

Yes. You can do this in two ways by changing quantities of your subscription (this will change all your upcoming orders) or for individual orders.

Simply log in to your account using the same email you used to create an account and click on the link says “Manage Subscription”. Look for the Manage heading and click the pull down arrow to select “Product (Qty)”. The items in your subscription order will appear and you can adjust the amounts. When you’re finished select Update. All future orders will reflect your change. To adjust the quantities on individual orders, select Subscription #1 and all your future orders will appear. You can click on orders and increase or decrease quantities here.

 

Can I add (or delete) products?

To add a productLog in to your account using the same email you used to create an account. Shop for the product at the website you would like to add - select the "Add to Existing Subscription" button. The product will automatically be added to your subscription. 

To delete a productLog in to your account using the same email you used to create an account and click on the link that says “Manage Subscription” from the Account Details page. On the Manage Subscription page, look for the Manage heading on the far right and click the pull down arrow to select “Product (Qty)”. The items in your subscription order will appear and you can delete a product (or update quantity) from your subscription by clicking the trash can icon on the far right or adjusting the number. When you’re finished select Update. All future orders will reflect your change.

 

Can I ship my order early (or later)?

Yes. Log in to your account using the same email you used to create an account and click on the link says “Manage Subscription”. Look for the Manage heading and click the pull down arrow to select “Change upcoming order date”. Click on the calendar and select the date you would like your order to ship. Keep in mind all future orders will ship every 60 days using this new date.

Note: It may take up to 24 hrs for your order to process and 2 days until your order ships. Your order should arrive in about a week.

 

What if I run out before my next scheduled order arrives?

If you notice you are running low you can change your upcoming order date (see instructions above). You might consider adding a unit to your next order shipment so you have backup supply or increase the quantities on your subscription so with each shipment you receive more.

 

What if I have too much?

You can choose to skip a shipment, decrease the quantities on your next order or decrease the quantities on your subscription so with each shipment you receive less.

 

Can I skip shipments?

Yes. Log in to your account using the same email you used to create an account and click on the link says “Manage Subscription”. Then select Subscription #1. Your future orders will appear. Select “Skip Shipment” for the order you would like to skip. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm. Click Ok.

 

How do I track my order?

Once your order has shipped you will receive an email with a link to your tracking information. You can also log in and select an order to find your tracking # and link.

 

Can I place a one time order?

Yes, but it takes a few steps. We are a subscription based service, so when you place an order it becomes an ongoing subscription. However, you could place an order and after it ships log in to your account and delete your subscription, thereby canceling all future orders.

Having a subscription based business allows us to keep our prices low and our quality high while offering the convenience of  "set it and forget it".

 

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes - at any time, for any reason. While we’d hate to see you go, we make it easy. No tricks or stumbling blocks.

  • Log in to your account using the email you used to create an account. In order to Login, you need to "Activate your Account" which means create a password. Use the link in the account activation email sent to you after you placed your order. 
  • Click on “Manage Subscription”.
  • Look for the Manage heading and click the pull down arrow and select Cancel Subscription

Can I have multiple subscriptions under one account?

Yes. After placing your first order return to our store. When placing items in your cart (assuming you are signed in), click the “Subscribe” button instead of the “Add to Existing Subscription” button. Keep adding items in this manner and when ready, checkout. During checkout you will have the option to select a new address. This option works well if you want to gift a subscription.

 

Is your site secure?

Yes! We use Shopify, Bold Commerce and Stripe to handle our cart functions and payment. To learn more about these companies, please see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

 


OUR PRODUCTS

Are your products certified organic?

All of our ingredients are of the highest quality and sourced from highly trusted sources. While many of our ingredients are certified organic some are not. Keep in mind, the organic, or certified organic labels and certifications were created for food and don’t work as well when it comes to personal care products. Clay and our Trace Minerals, for instance are completely natural, coming directly from the purest sources, but would not qualify as "organic" by most standards. Our essential oils, are grown without the use of man-made pesticides or fertilizers and are exactly the same as those labeled certified organic, just without the costly process of getting certified as organic

Instead of seeking these expensive labels, we’ve set our own high standards for our products and formulations. Read more on our Philosophy and Ingredients pages. 

 

Are your products Vegan? Paleo? Non GMO? Biodegradable?

Yes.

 

Where are your products made?

All of our products are Made in the USA. Our manufacturing partners also adhere to the highest quality standards and are ISO 9001, FDA and USDA Organic certified.


MINERAL TOOTHPASTE 

Is your natural toothpaste safe to swallow?

All of our ingredients are food grade, Non GMO and safe to ingest. However, essential oils while natural are a very potent substance and could bother sensitive individuals if consumed steadily for long periods of time. We recommend you consult your doctor before making a practice of swallowing our natural toothpaste.

 

What is the problem with ingredients like Fluoride, Glycerin, Foaming Agents, Guar gum, and naturals sweeteners?

Some ingredients found in commercial brands and even natural brands can be harmful. Others are unnecessary and provide no real benefits to your oral health. How abrasive is it?

The RDA is 93. Ideally formulated to remove stains while protecting and preserving tooth enamel.

How do I use the 3 in 1 Bar as a shampoo?

Our super, gentle all natural soap bar makes a great shampoo. If you are transitioning from traditional shampoos & conditioners, there may be an adjustment period of 3 – 5 washes - the length and condition of your hair is also a factor. Make sure you lather well and rinse thoroughly. A simple rinse of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (20% to water) can help clarify your hair and ease the transition.

Be patient - during this transition period your hair may feel waxy or heavy or just plain different – this will pass as the chemicals leave your hair and your scalp adjusts to our gentle, moisturizing, non-drying all natural soap.

 

What is RSPO Palm Oil?

RSPO Palm Oil = Sustainably grown. The RSPO was founded in 2005 to create a system for certifying sustainably grown palm oil, and to create guidelines of membership for certified growers. These guidelines cover more than just environmental stewardship; members of the RSPO must report on and provide better working conditions, better wages, and foster local discussions and input on their impact on local and native land. These principles and criteria for members of the RSPO help ensure that the certified palm oil is produced under legal, socially and environmentally responsible management. The World Wildlife Fund has given the RSPO a thumbs up as a big step in the right direction for the production of palm oil in “providing assurance that valuable tropical forests have not been cleared, and social safeguards have been met during the oil’s production” of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil. I have hard water. How can I reduce the effects of soap buildup especially in my hair?

Using a vinegar rinse (20% ACV to water) will help remove chemical and mineral build up from hard water and residues left behind from most shampoos and conditioners (particularly silicones).
